The Story Behind the Business
Ben Minto Building Contractor Ltd was built on a lifetime of experience in the building trade — and a father's example. Growing up with a father who was a builder, Ben was introduced to the industry from a very young age, helping during school holidays and after school, learning the importance of hard work, quality workmanship, and taking pride in every project.
Ben credits much of his knowledge, work ethic, and passion for the trade to his father, whose guidance and experience helped shape the foundations of the business today.
As soon as he was old enough, Ben completed his Bricklaying apprenticeship at Borders College — building a strong foundation in traditional building skills. He then spent over a decade working for established contractors, gaining hands-on experience across many areas of the construction industry, continuing to develop his skills and gaining further qualifications in a variety of trades and specialist building services.
In 2019, Ben decided to take the leap and start his own business — and he has never looked back. Today, Ben Minto Building Contractor Ltd proudly delivers high-quality workmanship across the Scottish Borders and North Northumberland, with a team that shares Ben's commitment to quality, reliability, and doing the job properly.

We believe the best way to keep standards high in the building industry is to train the next generation the right way — with hands-on experience, proper mentoring, and a genuine commitment to their development.
